Olympic Week at Woodland Towers: A Celebration of Community, Competition & Compassion

Throughout an unforgettable week, Woodland Towers proudly hosted its own Olympic Week in celebration of the national Olympic spirit. What began with an energetic Opening Ceremony quickly grew into five full days of friendly competition, teamwork, laughter, and meaningful community engagement.

Opening Ceremony: Let the Games Begin

The week kicked off with a spirited Opening Ceremony that filled our halls with excitement and anticipation. Residents and staff gathered to celebrate the start of the games, setting the tone for a week defined by encouragement, camaraderie, and community pride.

Day One: Balloon Volleyball

The competition began with a lively game of balloon volleyball. Residents brought enthusiasm and determination to the court while teammates and spectators cheered them on. The room was filled with laughter, teamwork, and friendly rivalry as our athletes gave it their all.

Day Two: Cornhole

Day two brought a highly competitive cornhole tournament. Residents and staff teamed up for multiple rounds, with scores rising and cheers echoing throughout the building. The afternoon highlighted the strong bonds between neighbors and the supportive environment that defines Woodland Towers.

Day Three: Beach Ball Volleyball

Midweek competition continued with an energetic game of beach ball volleyball. Staff joined residents on the “court,” creating moments of connection and shared joy. The laughter throughout the building was a clear reminder that this community thrives on togetherness.

Olympic Blood Drive: Champions Give Back

In the true spirit of the Olympics, the week also included an on-site Blood Drive. Residents, staff, and community members stepped forward to donate, demonstrating that being an Olympian is not only about competition — it is also about compassion and service. Every donation made a meaningful difference.

Day Four: Bunco

Day four featured a lively game of Bunco. Dice rolled, cheers erupted, and friendly rivalries added to the excitement. It was another opportunity for residents and staff to engage, laugh, and create lasting memories together.

Day Five: Bocce Ball Grand Finale

The week concluded with a spirited game of bocce ball. Residents and staff played side-by-side while a crowd of cheering supporters filled the space with energy. It was a fitting finale to a week centered on teamwork, connection, and celebration.

Medal Ceremony

At the grand finale, each participating resident was honored with a medal. Some competed in one event, while many proudly participated throughout the entire week. The ceremony was filled with applause, pride, and genuine joy as we recognized the incredible spirit of our Woodland Towers Olympians.
